Spring 2012 Nail Trends

by Maryann Pisano on March 6, 2012

Where will you be going for spring break this year?  Whether you choose Mexico, Florida or the Caribbean a mani is a must-have!  Hair stylist Carmella Mahaz gave emme the scoop on all the hottest nail trends this season!

Colors

Like last season, glitter and metallic shades are still very prevalent.  “OPI just came out with the Holland Collection.  Some are a little more matte, while others have a touch of shimmer to it.  There are a few oranges and pinks that are very beautiful,” Mahaz said.  When it comes to glitter, Mahaz has seen customers get glitter at the top of the nail that almost fades down to the cuticle.

Lengthy-Lengths

While watching this year’s Grammy Awards, who could not notice Gaga and Adele’s lengthy nails?  “Both short and long nails are going to be popular this season,” Mahaz said.  Clients are either going for a natural look, or for long, oval-shaped nails.

No Chip!

OPI recently reformulated their No Chip Manicure!  The no-chip manicure is a healthier option acrylic.  “The manicure is only 4 coats, and takes about 30 minutes to apply,” Mahaz said.  “But, it lasts for weeks!”
