Stay Healthy During the Holidays

‘Tis the season for presents, gifts, laughter… and oh yeah, sneezing, coughing, and colds!  Yuck!  So how can we stay healthy this holiday season?  Have no fear… your journey to wellness begins here!

1.  Clean Your Travel Area

This is a huge time of year for traveling.  Whether it’s a train, boat, or plane, make sure to wipe down your area with an anti-bacterial wipe.  It can at least eliminate a decent amount of germs that can cause colds and the flu.

2.  Drink More Water

Going back to travel, this is a time of year when your throat and mouth becomes dry on airplanes or trains.  Staying hydrated is a great way to resolve this, and to keep bugs out of our system.

3.  Watch Those Hands!

Don’t you just love those cute anti-bacterial bottles from Bath and Body Works?  Well buy them and use them!  Always keep one on you in case you need it.  Malls are packed this time of year, so make sure to watch your hands when using elevators and escalators.  And, always keep them clean!

4.  Eat Healthy/ Snack Wisely

Sure, Christmas shopping helps burn calories.  But, devouring a Cinnabon and then having to walk six hours to burn it off isn’t exactly a healthy option.  Resist those urges and munch on fruit and veggies.

5.  Relax

The holidays can be a very stressful time, obviously.  Don’t run yourself ragged by holiday shopping, wrapping gifts, and then baking cookies.  Do things a little bit at a time and take breaks.  Don’t forget to meditate.
