According to Filipino immigrant Richie, many Christmas Eve traditions are similar to those in the United States.  Most people that live in the Philippines are Catholic, so attending a midnight Mass on Christmas Eve is very popular.  After Mass, they have noche buona, which means good night.  They celebrate by giving each other gifts.  Also, Christmas parties for your work or business is a very popular holiday activity.  Richie loves living in the United States because Christmas is so much more magnified here.  Since she’s a devout Catholic, she loves celebrating Jesus’ birthday with family and friends.
