I have been a Cubs fan since I was born. I was so excited when the Cubs made it to the World Series. When the Cubs won, I was at Underpass Restaurant & Lounge with my daughter who is 15. We had a rush of emotions. All I could think about was that my grandpa would’ve been out of his mind with excitement. The whole moment was unbelievable.
I promised my daughter that we would go to the parade. We got downtown around 3:00 a.m.! Our intention was to go to Grant Park, but it was just too crazy! However, we got first row for the Cubs parade.
We got some great pictures at the parade. I could swear that Jake Arrieta waved to us when we called to him! Since we were there so early, we were featured on news channels 5, 7, 9, and 32. They wanted to know why we were there and what the Cubs mean to us.
My grandma and grandpa lived in Wrigleyville until I was 13. I spent every summer and weekend with them. My grandpa used to take me to the games and we used to walk down to the field. So, I felt very excited to be a part of the World Series win. I’m looking forward to next year!
