I Met My Fiance Online!

In the summer of 2018, I was dating someone who wasn’t good for me. He was selfish, mean, would have random outbursts, and never showed me the kind of love that I craved. I knew he wasn’t the right man for me, and finally broke it off.

A few weeks after our break up, I headed to a 30th birthday party. I was lonely, sad and still reeling from my breakup. Everyone at the party seemed to be coupled up and happy and I couldn’t be more single.

At the party, I began talking to my friend, Myra. Myra is a pixie of a girl with dark black hair. On her arm was her new, hot boyfriend named Chad.

I knew right away that Myra and Chad had the chemistry that I wanted so bad with a man.

“Where did the two of you meet?” I finally asked them.

“We met on Bumble!” she explained. “I think you should try it.”

All I could do was groan.

I had had my fair share of online dating and absolutely hated it. In fact, I put online dating in the same category as going to the dentist.

I had horrible luck with any guy I met on online dating apps.

Not to mention I’m a hopeless romantic. I always dreamed of meeting that special someone in a cuter way than online. I always wanted something more romantic than the glare of a phone screen and swiping away at pictures.

“Just try it,” Myra said, when she saw my concerns.

That night, I downloaded Bumble and Coffee Meets Bagel. I decided to turn my sadness around and finally meet the man of my dreams. What did I have to lose?

Every night after work, I would go on both apps. And, I went on dates. Lots and lots of dates! I met lawyers, construction workers, teachers and guys that worked in IT. Some of these guys were nice and some of them weren’t for me — which was bound to happen.

One day, I came across Jack’s profile on Bumble. Jack was blonde haired, blue eyed, adorable and sweet. We had an amazing first date. We couldn’t stop talking about our interests, families and jobs. It was an instant connection and I knew that it was something special.

Today, Jack and I are happily engaged. I am so glad that I didn’t let my previous thoughts about online dating get in my way. Jack is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.

If you’re single, give online dating a chance. You never know who you might meet! 🙂
