Dating During COVID-19

by Maryann Pisano on April 7, 2020

How do you date in the middle of pandemic? Here are some ways young women are coping:

  1. My boyfriend and I FaceTime every night at 7:00. It doesn’t matter if we’re in the middle of a movie or a project, we drop what we’re doing and make sure we FaceTime. We also text several times throughout the day to make sure we stay in touch.
  2. I decided to get creative when seeing my boyfriend. We will take a walk together around the neighborhood or walk to the park and play tennis. One night we went through the drive-thru at a fast food restaurant and ate our meals next to each others in the car. Since we both live with elderly people, we’ve decided to not enter each other’s homes.
  3. Since I live with my parents, I have moved in with my boyfriend for the time-being. This way we are able to spend time together and still run to the grocery store without worrying about infecting my parents. I miss my mom and dad, but I guess this is a trial run for when my guy and I really do decide to move in together!
  4. My guy and I are making a list of all of the things we want to do when this quarantine is over! So far, we want to go to an amusement park, go bowling, and go camping. We’re also making a list of things we want to do physically. 🙂
  5. Every evening after dinner, my husband and I go for a long walk. We try to walk at least four miles every day. It’s a great way to get out, get fresh air, and exercise. It’s also a different way to bond.
