Ways to Help Veterans this Veterans Day

by Maryann Pisano on November 9, 2020

Veterans Day is Nov. 11! Thanking is a veteran is always important, however, it’s especially important on Veterans Day. Here are some ways to thank a veteran:

1. Write a letter to a veteran

Operation Gratitude is an organization that coordinates care packages, letters, and gifts to veterans. A simple card or gift could make a veteran smile.

2. Volunteer at a VA Hospital

Get off of Instagram for a few hours and spend some time volunteering at a VA Hospital. Spending time with the veterans could help motivate you, and make you thankful to live in the United States.

3. Pay for a Veteran’s Lunch or Coffee

If you are out to eat and you see a veteran, (they usually wear their veteran status proudly) pick up the tab for them. The gesture truly says, “thank you for your service.”

4. Put Out Your American Flag on Nov. 11

By showing off your patriotism, any veteran driving by will be touched. It is so important to show pride in living in the United States of America!
