Psychic Chris Medina: “I just want to get bigger and better.”

by Maryann Pisano on April 5, 2021

Where did you grow up and go to school?

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I then moved to Ventura County Simi Valley. I went to school out there for junior high school and high school. I dropped out in 10th grade.

How did know you were psychic?

My grandma was the first to acknowledge my ability. My dad didn’t want anything to do with it. After a while, my dad was able to see my ability, especially my medium abilities. My dad and his friends would smoke weed, and I would read his friends. I remember making my dad’s friends cry.

What is another distinct memory?

I had really bad asthma as a kid. I remember sitting in a bubble in the hospital, waiting to die. I remember seeing the dead tell me that it wasn’t my time yet. They were telling me I had a lot more to do here. I felt better the next day and I was checked out. That was the first time I felt my abilities as a medium.

What other memories do you have as a kid?

I remember moving to Simi Valley with my mother. We moved into a house, and the house was haunted. I remember waking up and hearing the carpet shuffling in the hallway. I remember having to sneak into my sister’s bedroom to sleep with her.

Did that scare you?

Yeah it did! I would hear [spirits] talk to me. They would put me in different sceneries so I wouldn’t be scared. I remember one was trying to be a clown so I would talk to it. I remember the clown would try to get me to laugh and would play with my toys.

How did you start building a following?

I didn’t start doing it until 2014. I worked for an insurance company for 20 years. I have two kids. I had a normal life. I’ve lived so many lives. I was into the party scene, I was a club hopper, I was a gangster, I was a drug dealer, and I was an escort. When I got into my 20’s, I started to become more in tune with my ability. Suddenly, these [spirits] who told me I wasn’t supposed to die in the plastic bubble, told me it was my time to become a psychic. They showed me giving readings. They told me it was a huge responsibility.

What did you do next?

I was living with my current manager at the time, Jay. He’s my best friend. I told him to reach out to anybody who would want a psychic reading. He booked me at ComicCon, and I never looked back.

How did you make your way to Hollywood?

Jay booked a podcast with this woman named Annabelle DeSisto. As soon as I did that podcast, my career snowballed. I started reading for a lot of reality stars, such as the real housewives. That’s how I came into the celebrity side of things.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve gotten to do as a psychic?

One of the coolest things is working with Stassi Schroeder. We’re really cool with each other. I went on her show. I was able to predict the initials of her now husband and the sex of her baby. That interview blew up over night. I was so in tune with Stassi.

How do you talk to the dead now?

There’s three different ways. Sometimes the ghost or spirit will talk to me directly. Sometimes they will be hesitant and just jump in once in a while. Sometimes, they won’t come back at all. They have crossed over and they are done. If that happens, and I see their picture, I’ll be able to pick up on how they were feeling/ thinking before they passed. I don’t really like to do medium readings because it opens the door to everything else, and [the spirits] don’t leave.

What kind of cool events do you have coming up?

I am in talks of getting my own show right now. I am trying to get into TV and going more mainstream. I have tours and television shows that I would like to line up. I just want to get bigger and better. The pandemic did not slow me down. Look out for Chris Medina in 2021!

How can people tap into their own intuition?

You have to discover how it works. You have to play with it. You have to make friends with it. Ask yourself, what does this mean? Everybody has the ability to listen to it.
